LA

Having just landed back in Italy after 6 days in Los Angeles I'm feeling a little spaced out and tired...but super glad to be home, even though it is freezing compared to the sunshine that permenently shines down on the folk in LA.
As work trips go it was good, a little disappointing in the shopping department...too much flounce and fuss for us on the high street, and the Rose Bowl Flea Market is getting more expensive everytime I go and more picked through...not many treasures to be found.

We stayed at The Viceroy in Santa Monica, nothing new to report the beds always a delight to sleep in, super soft and almost impossible to leave, especially when suffering with the old jet lag.
Breakfast the most important meal of the day...
Coras Coffee never disappoints it's right across the street from the hotel, great burrata cream cheese and Eli is obsessed with their potatoes.

We tried a couple new places too...the farmshop in Brentwood was a great find, we had two great breakfast there, it's a little pricy especially if you visit the shop part of the eatery after breakfast and there's a jamesperse next door where it's impossible to resist their ribbed v.neck tanks.
Cafe Midi attached to American Rag on La Brea, is always a great spot for lunch their salad menu is immense and the staff are always so nice...which for LA I think is a rarity.

We headed out to Silverlake, first stop was the mohawk general store , which although has a really great selection from mid century modern to brands like A.P.C, the girls who run it were nothing other than unhelpful and rude...it was meniniscent of our trip to Merce & Muse in Paris.

But the guys at Broome General Store made up for it, and the store is just perfect...probably because it's a little piece of home style in LA, although a piece of advice don't order the espresso...not so good, we're spoilt in Italy. But the yogurt & honey parfait is perfetto served in Ball conserve jars, always a winner!
Anything you buy in this store will be loved if it's for you or as a gift.

We headed to Santa Barbara for one night and stayed at a super cute motel
their reception is deadly...in the form of
where there are too many delicious goodies to buy.
We headed to the cinema and caught the early evening showing of 'The Artist'
which was just so beautiful and the perfect way to end a hectic week in LA
